Nos voisins Kiwis (de l'île du Sud) n'ont pas eu à aller bien loin, le week-end dernier, pour s'offrir une soirée de spectacle inoubliable. De Bighton à Queenstown, en passant par Queenstown, ils ont pu assister à une féérie de lumière à couper le souffle avec l'aurore australe qui a illuminé les cieux.

Ce phénomène lumineux a jeté des nuances de roses, de jaunes et de verts dans la nuit étoilée, une succession de voiles capturée par de nombreux photographes.

 

BOOOOOM! What an amazing experience, beyond expectations. Last night I saw and captured the southern lights for the first time of my life. We hiked up the mountain for 2 hours and arrived just after sunset. Awaiting the show with a bottle of red wine with my two friends Jeroen & Sil. When the lights started to show we were just blown away by the beauty of it. After a while we decided to head back down, because it was getting really cold. But just when we walked our first steps down a big aurora explosion happened. We were all screaming how amazing it looks. Extremely nervous with shaking hands, I tried to get some good photos. I kept telling myself, don't f*ck this up, haha! About the shot: This is a panorama that contains 15 still images that I shot vertically. Stitched together in Photoshop. Big thanks to Aurora Service - Australis for predicting the aurora forecast and helped me plan my shot and giving very helpfull tips. This is my last timelapse from the Aurora Australis. Lovely one, there is a big run between clouds and lights. It was a difficult beginning but in the right moment when the Southern Lights became stronger there was a gap in the sky in the right place. It is a short timelapse but worth to show.
